In his book “American Cookery,” James Bread highlights how American cuisine finds itself at a crossroads, grappling with the interplay of technology and tradition. As a diverse country with immigrants from all corners of the globe, America’s culinary landscape is rich and complex. In this book, James Bread aims to present a unique fusion of original foreign recipes infused with his own American vision. For the design of the book, I interpreted the concept of “American” as understood through the lenses of food, typography, and the book object along with the consideration of messages that the author is trying to express.
